Big Andy is a player

Nolan will not get remotely close that MF

Assuming logic prevails

We shall see - in the interim, I have the hots for the 3 musketeers

Nolan can't get near it
Carroll a class act IMO

Good options from the bench, a nice place to be in.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
With Carroll we have a pretty strong choice of strikers, and I don't include Cole in that. Nolan, however, must never set foot on the pitch again.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Carroll would be a great player to have on the bench (if not starting)

Imagine being a goal down with 10 mins to go & we win a corner

There are very few players who can put the fear of God into defenders like Carroll

Nolan scored several vital goals for us last season & ended up our top scorer. There are times when his experience might be useful. I hope BFS isn't intending to start Nolan every match, once fit. Its hard to see where Nolan would fit into the present formation

Better on the bench than on it

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan would not be a good player to have on the bench at all.
We have far far better options than the fat sack if shit.
Sell him in January to Bolton

Would much rather see Poyet and Morrison on the bench than Nolan.

"Nolan could be a good player to have on the bench ."

You are aware of what you have done here, I take it.

Pringle 10:25 Sat Sep 20
Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan yes Hammer & Pickle granted ...... but having an option with Carroll can only be a good thing for us as a team. Nolan could be a good player to have on the bench .

Re: Carroll and Nolan
If Carroll is fit he will start. Probably get slagged off but reckon he is a cracking player. Sod the long ball to him he has got much more ability than just that

Re: Carroll and Nolan
If Carroll gets match fit...he will be an asset as he gives us an option to mix & match with Valencia & Sakho...

Nolan at best will be a bench warmer sub...But he has many midfielders ahead of him...

Pringle Nolan is shit. I still think Sam will chuck him back in.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan is crap though Pringle.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
The proof in whether we're going to progress is if Sam brings Nolan back in. There's no room for him and Downing appears to be on fire.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Good bet you`ll be praising them in January when we need them because of suspensions and injuries.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan is with us for this season and next. His wages are prohibitively high, so no other club will pick him up before that and I cannot really see us subsidising his wages when leaving (although we've done the same with Maiga).

Nolan can still do his bit from the bench though.
But I really cannot see him fitting in as a starter anymore.
Him being our topscorer for the last two seasons is probably more indicative of our tactical system during that period than Nolan's ability as a goalscorer.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan should be released. He is nowhere near premier league quality and we have an abundance of other options.

Carroll on the other hand is still useful if he ever gets fit, but the way Enner and Sakho are playing he's going to be bench for me.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
I make you right, chad.

Sulli needs to be in a position to disseminate them if Sam goes, as they are part of Sam's entourage. I think he is on the way to achieving that.
